A Little Hard to Breath

Do you ever feel an emotion so strongly that it's almost hard to breath?

Mckenna and I were playing outside today and I was once again taking pictures.

Mckenna was facinated by a bird in a tree and I looked over at her and thought....Wow, she is MINE.

She is smart, interesting, full of love and kindness, and just a Beautiful little person.

I found myself with my chest tight and feeling like it was hard to breath.

So...what did I do? Took a picture of course!

Today was a much needed break from fog and clouds and work and school. Mckenna and I took a nice walk around the neighborhood then met Sam at school to feed the ducks. It felt wonderful to just get outside for a while. Due to crazy airfares over the holidays, we won't be making it back to NE over Christmas this year. We are hoping to make it out really soon though and can't wait to see all of our family out there. We are hoping to make it to MT for Christmas this year due to the change of plans, weather permitting. Praying for NO SNOW between now and Wednesday. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, etc! Hoping whatever you celebrate is wonderful, relaxing, and filled with joy!

I was just sitting at the kitchen table, Mckenna was in the bathroom

Soon I hear.....

"Mom, I need help wiping."

I arrive, wipe and flush the toilet

Me, thinking..."jeez kind of a big poop for a little girl."

Mckenna, "My bumm kinda hurts."

Me, "Ya, you kinda had a big poop."

Mckenna, "How big was it?"

Me, "I don't know, just kind of big."

Mckenna, "Was it as big as a Hamster?"

The last week and a half have been busy, fun, exciting and this weekend and next the fun will just continue. Last weekend my friend Mike came to Boise with Cirque Du Soliel. We got to hang out on Friday night then got to go to the show on Saturday. Had friends over Saturday night and had a great relaxing day on Sunday. I finally got to teach a bit...finally feeling slightly productive at work, Yay! If anyone needs ACLS OB or wants training, let us know...it's a pretty great class. This weekend was my birthday, kind of uneventful, but had a nice afternoon with Sam and Mckenna and got a new car stereo which is awsome! This week I get to spend the whole week in the hospital doing direct patient care which I am SO excited to do...I miss it so much! Then on Thursday my great friend Kristen is flying in and we are watching the Cat/Griz game (I will post pictures.) Back to work for 2 days next week, I have my 90 day evaluation, and then off to Montana for Thanksgiving. So busy, but SO FUN!

Thankful...and kinda sad

These last two weeks my heart has been aching for MN....funny huh? It used to ache for MT and now I have two places that make my heart ache! I miss my friends, I miss my amazing neighbors, I miss our playdates with 16 kids (because we were all awsome and decided to get pregnant at the same time), I miss the fall colors and even raking the leaves, I miss owning my house even if it was teeny tiny, it was mine and I loved it, I miss all the parks, I miss the zoo....like every week, I miss my co-workers and my patients. I am thankful for a great job here (even though it is very very different). I am thankful for so many quick friends here in Boise, but miss the easy, comfortable friendships in MN. I posted a picture on my work website the other day....We all have to have Bios. Most people post a headshot taken up against a plain wall. Mine...I posted a picture that DeeDee took of me last year at an apple orchard. There I am standing below a sign that says FRUIT LOOP and pointing to myself. I feel silly posting it on a professional website....but this is internal and I want people to know this is me, a total dork! I can't wait to have easy comfortable friendships again. I am thankful for outdoor opprotunities, thankful to be closer to my family, thankful for a normal schedule, thankful for a healthy family...I am thankful, just missing my old life. Here are some cute pics from Pumpkin picking with a good friend from High school this last weekend...I am thankful and blessed.

Ah...I love the smell of fall. Of leaves on the ground, of rain, just the crisp, cool, fresh air! Mckenna and I got to go to Missoula last weekend to visit Grandpa Flip and happened to get to see So many family members....what a treat! Frances turns one tomorrow....Happy Birthday Sweet Girl! Since being back in the US, we have been to NE, MT, CA, and Sam has been all over with his Geology classes. Here are a few pictures from our trips as well as at home. Mckenna just turned 2, so she is great to be around...such a little personality. She talks more and more everyday and is so into make beleive...especially with her babies, she loves taking care of them and is such a good little mommy. Hope to see more of you soon. It has been so much fun to see so many family and friends lately.

Hey all- Thanks for following our great adventures across Europe. We have been home for a month now, but just settled down this week. We spent a week in Nebraska for Christmas this year and then were off to MT (Mckenna and Erin) and NV (Sam). We are now enjoying our first week with all of us home in our own house. I am currently job seeking...have a couple possible leads, and Sam is finishing up his PhD and applying for jobs. He applied at Carroll College in MT, so pray for that one! Here are a few pics since we have been home.

Mckenna and I just got back from a lovely trip to Germany, where I got to see lots of old friends. We stayed with Kerstin, Thomas, and Lasse and met up with many others. We went to German Christmas Markets, got to eat great food (thanks Kerstin!), went sledding, spoke to some English classes, drank Gluhwein, and just had a wonderful time! Here are some of our pics.

Last week we got to go to Venice and Sirmione Italy. We stopped in other towns as well, but got to stay overnight in those two. Venice was fun, but lots and lots of rain. While we were there I celebrated my 30th birthday and have to say I am so thankful for my amazing family and friends, they made it very special for me. Mckenna at more Gelato on this trip than humanly possible,and everytime we passed a Gelato stand she would scream "Happy, Happy!" Happy is her word for icecream. Sam also got a haircut in Venice at an authintic barbershop. It was a fun experience, I think I was more excited than Sam, but it was pretty fun.
Sirmione was like a town in a tourism brochure...amazingly beautiful. I think I took more pictures there in one day than I did of our entire 4 days in Venice! There were amazing Roman Ruins and a huge lake, a castle, and just an overall gorgeous setting.

So here are some pictures of where we have been skiing this last week. Sam is making amazing improvements and is starting to keep up on skis...he misses his snowboard I think. So our ski rental was cheap, we don't have to pay for lift tickets, we get free guides to help improve our skiing, and all we have to pay for is Mckennas daycare. Can't beat that! What an amazing opprotunity we have here! Notice there is one picture that looks like a hole in the snow...well it is! We are skiing on a glacier, so there are cravasses and someone happened to fall into it...a helicopter rescue soon followed...crazy stuff!

It is finally snowing here. Mckenna loves playing in the snow. If you ask her what color it is, first response is, "Yellow" We all hope not! Sam and I have gotten to go skiing a couple of times and are going again tomorrow, can't wait! Then on Tuesday we are off to Venice. We'll post more photos then. Congrats to everyone that is pregnant, we are so excited for you all!!!!

Paragliding!!!

Hey All- I got to go paragliding this weekend, which was amazing! It only lasted about 15 minutes, but was worth it. The only downfall, I was getting a little sick up there...should have taken dramamine I guess. Mckenna and Sam watched me come down and Mckenna yelled "Mommy Fly!" The whole time. When I landed she ended her excitement with a big "WHOA!"

Hey All! We just returned from a wonderful weekend in Annecy France. There was a celebration called the Alpenage, where all the cows are brought down from the mountians for the winter. There was a HUGE market and a big parade. The best part of all was that we got to spend an entire weekend together as a family, and we had a wonderful time!

Vineyard Biking trip

So I got to go with a group of nine girls to southern Switzerland and do a vineyard bike trip. It was a two day trip and we went about 45 miles, so pretty relaxed. It was so nice to get away for a little while, and Sam kept Mckenna, what a treat for me! Next weekend we are off to Annecy France and then the next weekend the parents of all the students will be visiting. I am hoping to go Paragliding sometime soon as well, so will post pics when that happens!

Sam has now done 2 overnight hikes one to Trift and one to the Bernese Oberland. He also led the students on a climb up the breithorn, about 14,000 feet and snowy! Enjoy the new pics! We miss you all.

Hi all! We are still trying to get this internet thing on our computers figured out, so no pics yet. It is amazing here though and we are loving the outdoors. We have been on many hikes already. I unfortunately got a blister on hike 2 and have been struggeling with that since. We have watches that are also passes to all the lifts around Zermatt including into and out of Italy....I think that is the coolest. Mckenna has been adujusting well and learned her first forgien word...Ciao! Hope everyone is doing well and once we get the internet figured out, I will definately post pictures.

Mckenna and I went to Montana for 2 weeks including Bozeman, Lewistown, and Swan Lake. Sam met us at Swan for the last week of the trip. We got to see so many family and friends, it was a wonderful trip!!!
